First specific sports wheelchair: The Rugby Armchair. Known as the “Rugby Armchair”. Wally SALVAN created the concept of "Rugby Armchair" in 2000, allowing access for disabled users to the use the Rugby Armchair. When this new idea was created no other team sport, such as Rugby (or other contact sports) had used such an intuitive creation. The arrival of the rugby armchair quickly demonstrated the need to manufacture a specific seat for this sport. France-Industries is proud today to have been asked to create and produce this chair. France-Industries manufactured this wheelchair with essential qualities such as strength, comfort but of utmost importance, safety. This seat was created in record time (- 48 hours), before departing for the World Cup Handy-Sport, Rugby in Australia in 2008.
